چکیده

Background: Fasciolosis is a global parasitic disease caused by liver trematodes such as Fasciola hepatica, affecting various mammals, including sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, and humans worldwide. Cathepsin L (Cat L) found in the life stages of F. gigantica associated with pathology fluke. Given detrimental impact fasciolosis on animal health production, along reports drug resistance concerns regarding residues products environment, there has been an increasing emphasis developing potent epitope-based vaccine to combat this infection. Objectives: The present study aimed at bioinformatically analyzing characteristics Cat newly encysted juvenile (FgNEJ) identify potential epitopes for constructing effective against Methods: FgNEJ was analyzed using several reliable bioinformatics tools. Results: Analysis second structure amino acid sequence demonstrated that alpha-helix, random coil, extended strand ratios were 77 (23.62%), 164 (50.31%), 85 (26.07%), respectively. B-cell, T-cell, MHC predicted suggested ideal target design. Conclusions: current introduces significant information FgNEJ, well some promising can be used strong candidates studies involved fasciolosis.

Strategies of vaccine production against COVID-19: when will an effective vaccine be produced?

There is a strong consensus globally that production of an effective vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 is likely the most effective approach to sustainably controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. An unprecedented research effort and global coordination has resulted in a rapid development of vaccine candidates and initiation of trials. In this paper, we review vaccine candidate against COVID-19 and also cha...

Cholestasis caused by Fasciola gigantica.

Fascioliasis is an infectious disease caused by the hepatic trematodes Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica. Here, we report the case of Fasciola gigantica presenting with biliary obstruction and abdominal pain that was diagnosed and treated by endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERCP). A 46-year-old woman presented with right upper quadrant abdominal pain and jaundice. Physical examinat...

Serodiagnosis of human fascioliasis by a cystatin capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with recombinant Fasciola gigantica cathepsin L antigen.

Cathepsin L1, a cysteine protease secreted by the gastrodermis of juvenile and adult Fasciola gigantica, was expressed in Escherichia coli as a calmodulin binding peptide fusion protein with a molecular mass of approximately 35 kD. The recombinant cathepsin L1 (rCTL1) was tested for its antigenic potential in a cystatin capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to diagnose human fasciol...

Vaccines against the zoonotic trematodes Schistosoma japonicum, Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica.

Schistosoma japonicum, Fasciola hepatica and F. gigantica are digenetic trematodes and, therefore, possess similar life cycles. While schistosomiasis japonica has for a long time been recognised as a major disease of both humans and animals, infection with fasciolids has only been considered of relevance to animals. However, a number of recent reports indicate that fasciolosis is becoming a ser...

A Novel Multi-Epitope Vaccine For Cross Protection Against Hepatitis C Virus (HCV): An Immunoinformatics Approach

Background: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) causes acute and chronic human hepatitis infections. Due to the high genetic diversity and high rates of mutations in the genetic material so far there is no approved vaccine against HCV. Materials and Methods: The aim of this study was to determination B and T cell conserved epitopes of E1 and E2 proteins from HCV and construction of a chimeric pepti...
